How Does Enriched Plasma Work?
Platelets are blood cells that play a vital role in wound healing. Our blood predominantly consists of plasma, which carries red and white blood cells and platelets. Enriched Plasma therapy is created by drawing some of the patient’s own blood and then using a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets within a sample of the plasma. This concentrated sample of platelets is then combined with the original blood sample. We can then inject this platelet-rich blood into the treatment area.
Conditions That Benefit From Enriched Plasma Therapy
Enriched Plasma injections are used to promote the healing of common injuries. Common injuries that benefit include:
- Torn ligaments
- Tendonitis
- Other soft tissue injuries
- Rotator cuff injury
