ASHLEY THOMAS, ARNP

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Ashley is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family Health. Ashley has been working in a hospital-based setting since 2013 primarily in emergency medicine until joining the Salish Integrated Medical team in January 2022.

She graduated as a registered nurse in 2013 and has had many years of clinical experience with geriatrics, adults and pediatrics in very busy emergency rooms in Southern California and Washington. In her time in the emergency department she worked closely with other Nurse Practitioners and decided that was her new path, so she could be more of an advocate for her patients and their care. Ashley’s academic background includes a bachelors degree from Grand Canyon University in 2015, and a masters degree in nursing from California State University Long Beach in 2021.

Ashley has worked in a hospital since she was 18 years old starting from the bottom and working her way up to becoming a nurse practitioner. All this time has seen how patients are cared for and came to the realization that as a Nurse Practitioner could make more change to patients care with a holistic approach. After receiving her ARNP license Ashley and her husband moved from California to Bellingham to be closer to the outdoors doing what they love. If not at work they are outside either gardening, skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, trail running or paddle boarding.

Ashley’s goal since joining the team at Salish Integrated Medical is to help improve her patients function and quality of life without medicine or surgery. To understand why they have gotten to where they are and what we can do as a team to help them get to where they want to be. Her philosophy aligns closely with the teams in that masking pain and function with medication and surgery is not the answer! She is extremely excited to care for you and we welcome you to our family.
